Joe Cooney is third Fine Gael candidate

Welcoming the addition of Cllr Joe Cooney as the third Fine Gael candidate to contest the upcoming General Election in the Clare constituency, his running mate Leonora Carey said that his selection provided further strength to the party electoral prospects following the earlier addition of Dr Tom Nolan to the team.

“Joe Cooney is a seasoned politician whose service to the community is reflected in the impressive vote he has consistently delivered in successive local elections. I look forward to working with him and Dr Nolan to deliver a strong Fine Gael performance in the General election,” Ms Carey said.

“I believe Cllr Cooney will bring a fresh impetus to the campaign and that his contribution will energise party members in their efforts to deliver a second seat for the party in Clare,” she added.
