Four cost of living lump sum supports being paid this week

THE delivery of four Budget 2025 cost-of-living lump sum payments this week will provide a financial cushion for thousands of Clare families as they face the pressures of the winter months.

That’s according to Fine Gael General election candidate Leonora Carey who said that this week’s payments are part of a broader package of ten lump sum payments scheduled before Christmas, that will ease the strain on families, pensioners, carers and people with disabilities.

“It starts with 678,000 families who will see a double child benefit payment hit their accounts this Tuesday. More than 400,000 households who rely on the fuel allowance will receive a €300 lump sum to help with heating bills as winter approaches,” she explained.

“A €400 lump sum payment will go to 46,000 households currently on the working family payment. 213,000 people with disabilities will benefit from a €400 disability support payment. These payments will be delivered alongside each person’s regular payments, ensuring that everyone feels that immediate relief.

“Over the next few weeks, we’re rolling out five more lump sums, including a €400 carer’s support payment, another double child benefit payment, as well as the Christmas bonus in early December,” Ms Carey added.
